Sur Place returns to the anti-CPE protest actions in Paris in March 2006. At the end of the protest march, the crowd gathered in the Place d'Italie and waited for something to happen. The clashes that then ensued bore witness to a unique situation of chaos and absurdity. By accumulating points of view on the individual, the crowd and mass groupings, Sur Place provides – with seeming objectivity – a transcription of the events that are at odds with televisual codes of coverage.
