Dorian Generatives (Lime) is a portrait of the presumed inventor of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, whose identity has been the subject of widespread debate and speculation ever since the cryptocurrency was created. From his first public message on 1 November 2008 (six weeks after the collapse of the Lehman Brothers bank) until his disappearance without a trace on 12 December 2010, this individual who gave the name Nakamoto to the creation of this “peer-to-peer” functional currency system did all they could to preserve their anonymity. The importance of their creation and the perfectly achieved mystery regarding their identity made them a modern legend that still fuels an increasing number of rumours and fantasies. Robness took advantage of this to create a point cloud portrait based on a generative and pop aesthetic algorithm making reference to the work of Andy Warhol, as the work is published in numerous colours. The title is a tribute to Dorian Satochi Nakamoto, a Japanese American identified in California in 2016 by a journalist as being the creator of Bitcoin, a claim he has consistently denied.
