Beuys in America, 1974

59 min, VHS PAL, 4/3, noir et blanc, son

This document brings together various rushes relating to Joseph Beuys' first visit to the United States, presented without any kind of contextual information. Although we can see here some of the images of the video shoot Dillinger (He Was the Gangster's Gangster), it mainly contains extracts from the artist's public appearances, including various conferences and interviews in New York and Minneapolis, but also a discussion with Nam June Paik and Douglas Davis.
