At the Venice Biennale in 1980, Joseph Beuys exhibited the installation Das Kapital Raum, 1970-1977 for the first time. Babeth one of his former students, filmed the mounting of the various elements of the work: a lot of blackboards, a grand piano, two projectors, etc. She then intervenes heavily on these rushes, whether by solarisation, slow-motion effects and freeze-frames, or by adding a musical track. More than just a stark record of the installation, Babeth offers us a subjective view of her former professor, in the form of a portrait of the artist at work.
