Actions, 1972
U-matic, NTSC, son, n/b
Five short actions, five gestures given with an economy of means and meaning.
Five laconic segments that seek and find alternatives to the communication of an image, sensation or sign. Tactile exploration of a material, writing of a text in Braille, friction of an organic material with an inorganic material, comparison of the cardiac pulsations of two people, Transformation, Pression, Pulsation, Friction, Message are the generic terms that define the sequences and all contribute to a dynamic action, a movement. Muntadas observes matter as it is made, presented and revealed, between visible and invisible: the word and its translation in braille, the interior and exterior of an object, the body and its internal drives.
