Helikopter, 1996

Bétacam SP, PAL, son, couleur

Filmed from above, the video Helikopter is the recording, in one long take, of an action showing eight tables, each covered with a white cloth. These tables are arranged in a circle, in the middle of which is a wooden box. Little by little, we hear from off screen the sound of a motor, a breeze begins to stir the tablecloths: a radio-controlled helicopter enters the shot, picks up a tablecloth, and deposits it in the box. It performs this task, more or less successfully, for each table. Helikopter may be looked at as a life-size game, combining the carnival claw machine with remote-controlled video games.
